[WCADP-list] Urgent: Help Stop Fast Track Executions

Dear Friends,
 
You help is critical.  This year, based on provisions in a renewed version
of the Patriot Act, the government plans to give states the power to "fast
track" the death penalty process.  If these rules are left unchanged, we
increase the risk of executing the innocent and give unbridled power to the
Attorney General to decide whether death penalty defendants are getting fair
representation.  The rules also cut appeals even for people who may be
innocent and create tight deadlines that will pressure judges to make life
and death decisions with haste.
 
The Department of Justice has provided a very small window for pubic comment
on these new regulations.  There are only 12 days left for us to tell the
government "NO" on these reforms!   Follow the link below to send your
