1. Conference & Annual Meeting
Saturday, October 28: Conference from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Annual
Meeting from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
WCADP will present "The Evolving Standards of Decency of a Human Society:
The Death Penalty in Washington State in 2006 and Beyond," a conference for
all interested death penalty abolitionists.
Our speakers are: Tim Ford, a Seattle attorney recognized as one of this
nation's most accomplished anti-death penalty advocates and; Mark Roe, a
senior prosecutor in the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office whose career
has been marked by a sensitivity and dedication to the needs of victims of
violent crimes.
The 2007 Annual Meeting will follow the conference. This is your chance to
hear what we have done during the past year, to have input on the work of
the agency, and to elect its leaders.
Location: Seattle University Law School <http://www.law.seattleu.edu> ,
Room 109. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. (coffee, tea, juice, pastries).
There is no registration. Free Admission. (Donations always welcome).
Lunch is not provided. Continuing education credits are pending. Call

2. The Exonerated
Thursday, October 19 at 7:00PM
Join the Bellingham chapter of Amnesty International for a special screening
of The Exonerated. This Academy Award-nominated film tells the true stories
of six wrongly convicted death row survivors (starring Brian Dennehy, Danny
Glover, Aidan Quinn, Susan Sarandon and others). Stay after the film for a
discussion of death penalty issues with Amnesty USA's state death penalty
abolition coordinator, Amy Luftig.
Location: Anything Grows building, 100 East Maple (corner of East Maple and
Cornwall) in Bellingham, Washington.
