We just received the following announcement for an event this evening:

A Speaking Engagement with Peter Neufeld
Attorney at law and Co-Director/Founder of the Innocence Project
Sponsored by the Associated Students of the University of Washington, the
Department of Law, Societies, and Justice along with the Innocence Project
Northwest.

Monday, May 2nd, 6:30pm-8:00pm
University of Washington School of Law Room 138 


Free admission, but get there early!


Peter Neufeld is the co-founder and director of the National Innocence
Project at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  He has received numerous
awards for his work with the project.  The Innocence Project is a non-profit
legal clinic and criminal justice resource center that works to exonerate
the wrongfully convicted through post conviction DNA testing. He has also
co-written Actual Innocence: Five Days to Execution, and Other Dispatches
>From the Wrongly Convicted. His work not only shaped the course of case law
across the country but helped lead to an influential study by the National
Academy of Sciences on forensic DNA testing, as well as important state and
federal legislation setting standards for the use of DNA testing.  This
event is a first come first serve status and limited seating.  Please come
early to ensure seating.
