What would you do if you found out 13 people on death row were innocent?

The National Week of Faith in Action to Abolish the Death Penalty Brings You
Two Unique Events.

Special Showing! DEADLINE, the Movie

Friday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m.

Keystone Church

5019 Keystone Place North (50th and Sunnyside)

What would you do if you discovered that 13 people slated for execution had
been found innocent? That was exactly the question that Illinois Governor
George Ryan faced in his final days in office. He alone was left to decide
whether 167 death row inmates should live or die. In the riveting countdown
to Ryan's decision, Deadline details the gripping drama of the state's
clemency hearings.

The showing of Deadline will be followed by a short panel discussion by the
Washington Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, Buddhist Peace
Fellowship, Amnesty International, and Freedom Project.

Interfaith Sunset Gathering

Sunday, October 24th at Sunset (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.)

Cascade Peoples Center (Eco-Cascade)

309 Pontius Ave. North (2 Blocks Northwest of REI).

Plans calls for light food with social conversation; then intentional
conversation leading to a candlelight covenant option, to disavow the taking
of life if one's own life is taken.

The Washington Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (WCADP), Buddhist
Peace Fellowship - Seattle (BPF), Amnesty International and others are
encouraging participation in Amnesty International's 7th annual National
Weekend of Faith in Action (NWFA). Amnesty launched this weekend in hopes
of bringing together two important approaches to social justice: grassroots
human rights activism and faith-based community action. The NWFA is a
weekend of solidarity action organized locally by individuals of faith all
over the country.
