Subject: RE: [Rockhounds] Re: [ADMIN] Subject lines
Please keep this stuff simple......I don't want to have to refer to a book
of rules...for the casual reader of which I am one. I just deleted all the
emails with "headless gel" in the subject line without reading...as they
meant nothing to me....i don't open every email to see if I need to read
it...keep the subject lines simple and to the point...please....i sense the
site is slowly drifting to a complex operation only fully understood by the
people who write and respond in a near daily basis.

PLEASE change the Subject line to fit your topic! This is especially
important if you are on the Digest.
Also, the use of WAS or (was) should go AFTER the new subject so that
the new topic is goes first and is easily visible. Example:
Subject: Removing gel (was) Rockhounds Digest, Vol 64, Issue 28
The whole point of changing the Subject is so that people can quickly
see if they want to read or delete.
BTW, Just to show that none of us is perfect, I posted a reminder to
follow this rule just 4 days ago, went out of town, and came back today
to find the "WAS Rockhounds Digest, Vol 64, Issue 28 NOW even headless
removing gel." subject line has continued for 32 posts since, some by
long-term members who have complained about this practice in the past
and even some other Admin Team Members.
