Ahah! Burning doesn't count as a form of luminescence nor does the glow of
hot metals.
When the last ember has died but the forge is still hot, throw some fluorite
and calcite in it and watch what happens. Better not use your best
specimens. (You'll need at least than 400° C)
Or use a hot air paint-stripper in a dark room, less complicated. You'll
wind up with some powders instead of specimens but it IS interesting.
