Actually, the term "selenite" is overused today. Some people call any gypsum :selenite", not just the clear crystals.
Icidentally, I also collected in the Alabastine Mine a few years ago, but didn't do as well as Kreigh- I didn't have enough light. Shortly after that trip I bought a headlamp, which I've used elsewhere, but haven't been back to the Alabastine.
