Or vice versa... I just published a nice ammonite that was treated VERY
badly... The polisher was so enthusiastic that he polished the entire outer
shell away. The inside of the shell does show some interesting features.
It's a specimen from Mindanao where the ocean floor is littered with
manganese nodules... No wonder that the calcite filling fluoresces red to
orange instead of the usual greenish white or white.
