Grandviewite is IMA 2007-004. The Type Locality (and only locality) is 
the Grand View Mine (Last Chance Mine; No. 1 Pat claim 3591; No. 5 Pat 
claim 3592a; No. 4 Pat claim 3592a; Canyon Copper Mine; Grand Canyon 
Mine),  Cape Royal,  Horseshoe Mesa,  Grand Canyon National Park,  
Grandview District,  Coconino Co.,  Arizona,  USA.

Does anyone know how permission was obtained to legally collect 
specimens in Grand Canyon National Park so they can be offered for 
commercial sale to collectors? I know several mineral dealers who are 
offering specimens, and eBay has many specimens for sale.

Or is this all old stuff collected decades ago coming out of closets?
