Thanks for the crystal clear clarification, Julie. It filled in the gaps in
my understanding of what Don had mentioned earlier.
Kriegh, your comment is most appreciated as well. The toughest problem is
coming up with topics *and *pictures *and* the basic questions. Unlike most
of you who provide learned, sensible answers, I've not been blessed with
formal training, and haven't had the resources, opportunities & support to
pursue such, so you can understand my reluctance to post questions. I'm
afraid of looking and feeling like a dope.
I am sure, as I've told many friends in the past, that "there are no stupid
questions, just stupid people who don't ask questions." I am also sure that,
at points in recent months, I've posted or reacted to posts in a sarcastic
and incendiary manner. I'll strive to keep politics & incendiary
governmental issues to a minimum in future posts, and will try to put forth
a "sarcasm warning" before nipping at anyones ankle. };)
I hope that others who might feel intimidated by less than kindly & clearly
phrased criticisms will not be deterred from participating in this fine
elist. I will do my best to be kind, courteous and gentlemanly to anyone who
might inadvertently present such in the future, realizing that what seems
mean or condescending to me may simply be how that person is in daily life,
or that I may have upset them with an ill expressed opinion. If there's a
conflicting and well expressible opinion or fact on most any subject, I am
the first one who wishes to hear it. Ignorance is a self inflicted curse.
I'll save the deep "bio" for the forthcoming website, and simply say that
the circumstances of my life are such that the privilege of advertising on
the Rockhounds elist is currently my single best way of promoting our
business. Though helpful, Don's (off list) suggestions on entering the
dealer business the traditional way isn't an option for me in terms of time,
money or practicality. I appreciate his concern, and hope that he will
continue to offer solid advice to newbies.
In closing, I really appreciate the ongoing business related posts such as
"So you want to be a dealer?" Thank you, elist members.
Julie, thanks again for your, John's, Don's and every contributing members
efforts to make this already great elist better & better.
