Yes, very much so.
It's funny how perspective plays tricks with your mind.  I remember flying
over the Alps at an altitude of about 7 1/2 km.  Beneath us where mountains
reaching halfway up to the plane but we would never have guessed that.  I
can only imagine the kind of distorted perspective one gets from more than
300 km up!
