[Rockhounds] Need help with Mineral ID

Ok, Gang! I've been out in the shop making spheres and I see a lot of
discussion has been going on about the raspberry color. Axel, it is more
purple than red but I couldn't think of a color to match it any closer than
Raspberry. I wonder if the color will photograph on my little Nikon L5? In
any case, I've seen Raspberries that are almost black especially when they
are real ripe around here in Nipomo, California. The less than ripe ones are
deep Red. This mineral is more purple than red but darker than most calcite
red's which is usually a reddish orange. I'm going to try to get a picture
of the glow later tonight.
Wow, this has been a whole lot of fun and I'm getting a new appreciation for
those in this group. You all are a wonderful resource and I'm overwhelmed.
Thank you everyone so much!
Stay tuned!
Wes
