[Rockhounds] Need help with Mineral ID

Wes, what's the locality?
Can we get a detail of the specimen? One full size photo of one of those
white crystals and a good one of one of the pink crystals.
A good way to find out if it belongs somewhere in the range of calcite to
rhodochrosite (or kutnohorite) is to check the phosphorescence. If it 's a
manganese activated carbonate of calcium it will show a red flash if you
quickly remove the UV lamp.
Other red fluorescing minerals that are activated by chromium don't do
that... Aragonite sometimes fluoresces reddish pink but the phosphorescence
of those appears to be green (to the human eye).

Calcite. It has Pyrite
