To the list:

I am looking for information about hydrothermal feldspars. I have a specimen of petrified wood enclosed partially by chalcedony. There is also an outer area of feldspar directly on the chalcedony.

My thinking is that this is a true hydrothermal feldspar. I need some help from the list's feldspar experts.

Is hydrothermal feldspar very common?
