Another question : does anyone have any recent experience by sending
radio-active mineral samples abroad ? I know that it is not wise to put them
in you hand luggage anyway, but can it still be sent as a post parcel or so
?The USPS has rather forcefully informed me that no radioactive materials can go through the US mailI've sent quite a few, but only micros, so they weren't detected. I also wrap them in aluminum foil. The problem I encountered was a shipment from the Netherlands that was exceptionally "hot". I was called to the USPS facility at O'Hare airport in Chicago to come and get it- they wouldn't transport it to my home in Indiana.Jim Daly

I shipped home several 18x18x20 packages using FedEX and one of them
arrived with the corners
blown out and the inner packing sticking out through the holes. Never
seen that happen before.
