Dear List:

I like this thread. Thanks for the comments of those who have contributed. I 
look forward to more.

In the past there seem to have been flavors of the mineral dealer as bad guy 
on this list, and I don't know exactly why that is. Perhaps because the 
mineral dealer might advertise their wares too much on the list. Or maybe 
they hi-grade, leaving nothing for the next person, etc. etc.

This thread seems to have the potential to get through some of these more 
superficial layers, and allow us to get to know each other on a deeper 
level. That's a really nice development!

I think I'll jump in at some point and share something, but for now I just 
wanted to say that I like the feeling of where this is going. Thanks to all.
