An 18% Neutral Grey (or is it Gray?) card is your friend. Put it where the specimen will be and take your exposure and "white balance" off the card. Pull out card and replace with Your Favorite Specimen. Perfection! A lot of folks have forgotten about the things we used to do to get a good exposure back in the day... GcB
