On further thought...  How about some PaintShop Pro fun?

My selections, sort of:

I cut the rock from the left and rotated it left to make the bedding
horizontal.

I cut the rock from the right and rotated it right to make the bedding
horizontal.

I resized the right chunk to more-or-less match the bedding thickness on the
left.

I swapped the left and right cuts to line up the beds.

Then did an unsharp-mask to kick up the contrast.
