I will be visiting Texas: Terlingua & Big Bend National Park
While I understand the rules for National Parks, and I am familiar
with the igneous rock history, are there particular geological or
mineralogical phenomena to search/watch for in Big Bend National
Park?
What is the collecting situation in the Terlingua mercury mining
ghost town?
I will stay over in Odessa, TX. Any clubs, dealers, collectors there?
For them who replied to the South Dakota Black Hills inquiry: thank
you
While mining has ceased, there are plenty of relics, dumps and
exposures.
Some local rock shops have a few decent specimens.
The Rapid City university geo museum is a must to see.
The Badlands is a special geological and in particular
paleontological interest area and deserves a side trip.
