Hi Tom,
I have successfully straightened a bent 18" blade.  But let me caveat  
since I don't know how badly your blade is bent, my suggestions may not  work.  
I left the blade on the mandril and used a steel square to identify  where 
the bend was.  I put on some cloth gloves with a rubber grip surface,  braced 
my hip against the saw box and pulled the blade toward me.  I  repeated the 
checking with the square and brute bending and was able to remove  the bend.
 
The hardest thing to fix is dishing.  I recommend a flat piece of  hardwood 
for a work surface and a leather hammer.  Go slowly and check your  
porgress after each stroke.
