The problem is that UV light comes in from the open bottom and sides.
Conformal safety goggles are best.  Your local home warehouse should 
have a good selection of UV-blocking safety goggles.

When using high energy UV such as that from a SuperBright or 
TripleBright, it is good to wear a face shield *in addition* to goggles.
