Last August I got to go collecting with Pete Modreski when we visited
my daughter who moved to Denver. The trip report is in the archives
at...

I finally got my pictures from the trip online. The first few pages
were taken at the Colorado School of Mines Museum, which I highly
recommend. There are some pictures of the collecting trip with Pete and
Jane, and the Coney Island we visited on our way back to town, and some
pictures taken around Denver up in the 'hills', including a rainbow
over the city. In case you are interested they are at

I also took time to post some other field trip pictures from the past
few years...

And in case you are still interested, I also posted some pictures from
a week long trip at a cabin in the Porcupine Mountains State Wilderness
Park in Michigan's UP, on the Lake Superior shoreline, from several
years ago

We had to pack everything in about 5 miles and bring it all out with
us. The only drinking water was what we boiled from the lake. We had
several encounters with black bears (one at 5 feet). Yes, I did some
collecting in the water along the shoreline and hauled the rocks out
too (nothing spectacular, sandstone with wave ripples, a little copper,
and a couple agates). Our final hike out, with eight kids, was in the
worst storm in over 25 years, and an aloft tornado passed over us
during continuous lightning. I don't think any of us will ever forget
the trip.

Enjoy!
