[Rockhounds] quartz sphere question

I recently bought a polished sphere at a yard sale.  I am guessing that
it is most likely either rock crystal (quartz) or glass.  The sphere is
roughly an inch and a half in diameter.  Would anyone have suggestions
for the best ways to distiguish wether it is quartz or glass?
