Maybe if Bryan didn't come through with a condescending tone, nothing
would've been said. A one-liner explaining the "really bad idea" of posting
addresses wouldn't be helpful to a newbie... maybe a short note explaining
why it is such a bad idea would be a little more appropriate?
Maybe you and Bryan have unlisted addresses, but I (as does Ed and Al) have
my address listed in many, many public places... so why is it such a big
deal?
