I live in Central Colorado and many nice examples of the minerals  you speak 
of are all over this area in rock shops.  Verrrry  Expensive!  Breckenridge 
had a specimen about palm sized with quartz  crystal sprays.  5000.00+ dollars.  
 I think being in  Breckenridge had something to do with it tho.
The Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado has some of the nicest Rhodocrosite  
known.  Galena is an associated mineral and an indicator of gold as   well as 
other Tellurides.  Not sure if this is your location but it may  be.  The mine 
is now closed,.... but I have been to the surrounding  areas.  Incredible 
place.
