Dora:
Be sure before you add rocks that are CaCO3 sources to your aquarium that
the fish you have tolerate neutral to alkaline waters. Many of the tropical
(large part of the world, them tropics) fish that are popular in aquariums
do not thrive in alkaline waters. Any aquarium book or competent fish
salesperson can help you there.
While grilling rocks may not be possible for every aquarium owner take
Gregory's advice and bake the rocks for a couple of hours. You can even
leave them in the oven while doing the turkey; that should take care of any
pathogens that the watershed might have.

I decided to try it in my aquarium, but watch my carbonate hardness and ph.
