[Rockhounds] Robots??? why not?

Hi all,

Robots probably can't do much worse than people.  The driver of one of these babies can't see any of his wheels, and here in WV where there are a ton of giant trucks on strip mines, accidents where a truck rolls over a Suburban without even knowing it hit something are not uncommon.

Underground, continuous miners are often operated by remote control, so that the operator can stand back under roof that has been bolted for support.  This doesn't protect then from rib rolls or other wall events, but roof falls are the biggest problem for miner operators.
