Thanks for the warning.  I guess I'll stay with Topo 6.0.

I think the problem you're having might be related to the creating of 
"roadless lands," where a certain past president declared that *poof* 
certain roads didn't exist any longer, or at least would not be 
maintained, even though some of them are still accessible with the right 
kind of vehicle.

I know there were a few times in the past few years when I wanted to go 
to an old mine and found the road nearly impassable, and then called the 
Forest Service and asked about it, and the gruff response was "why are 
you trying to go down that road?  it's out of service!", to which I 
would reply on behalf of all collectors, "because that's what leads to 
the mine site."
