[Rockhounds] Subscript notations in e-mails

My word, this has gotten arcane!  Thank goodness most of the time the  
numbers can be understood in context without sub/superscripts, or  
other alternatives are available, such as kg/km sq or H2SO4.

There are good reasons why the list is limited to text only.  We'll  
just have to talk out any confusion that may result from that  
limitation.
