Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for all the great info and tips on
where to go. We had a great time!
We went to Ft. Cronkite but didn't find much. I
think it would have helped more if we knew what we
were looking for. I'll do more research before the
next time.
We went to Agate beach and found some nice agates
and a ton of sea shells. My kids actually found some
of the oil drop agate? but thought they were some type
of egg so they left them there.
Went up to lake country and found some of the
"diamonds" but most were just chip size. We also
picked up some obsidian that has some nice patterns
in it.
All in all we had great weather and had a great
time hunting together. We will be doing some rock
houding in all the areas we visit from now on. I think
my family is hooked.
That brings me to another question. Now that we
have such nice finds, what kind of polisher is the
best for general type polishing? I know they have the
kind where you put the rocks in with other small BB
type things that tumble and polish them and if I
remember correctly there are wet polishers.
Are there any books on polishing?
Any tips are appreciated.
Thanks again for all the tips!!
David and family
