[Rockhounds] Advice needed

Hi...I'm considering renewing an active interest in rocks and fossil collecting after a 25 year "hiatus" and currently tending to 10 years worth of "honey-do's" before I can even consider (or before my wife will even let me consider....) starting a new hobby. While cleaning the basement I happened across my neighbor's old, large, sears jigsaw. What I don't want to do is toss something out in January and then wish I hadn't in May. So, the question to all you experienced pros is: can this saw be rigged up as a trim saw? Do they make jigsaw blades that will cut enough kinds of rock to make this worth saving? It's a dinosaur (no pun intended...) but works fine...certainly it could only be a dry-saw....? Thanks for the help.....Glenn
