Well, you didn't say when...
This is from the M.A.G.M.A. site www.wncrocks.com and is one of their
upcoming trips.

Marion Kentucky Fluorite Hunt!
April 11, 12 and 13, 2008
An Official Fieldtrip of the Mountain Area
Gem and Mineral Association
The folks at the Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum have graciously invited us to
come back and dig for some fluorite again.
MAGMA will have an official fieldtrip to Marion, Kentucky on April 11, 12
and 13. Unlike the museum's regularly sponsored fieldtrips, they have waived
their maximum limit of 30 people and are inviting as many of us to attend as
can make the trip.
We will be visiting the Eureka Mine, the Columbia Mine and possibly several
other locations. More details will be announced as the date of the dig gets
closer.
Steve Bonney will serve as the fieldtrip leader.

We will meet in the parking lot of the museum each morning. Diggers will
need to sign release forms there, and pay their initial fee of $20 per five
gallon bucket of material. At the end of the day, or the following morning,
you will be asked to pay for any additional material you have gathered. In
other words, the cost is directly associated with the total fluorite
specimens you've gathered. If you fill three five-gallon buckets while you
are digging, you're on the honor system to pay for them.
Last time we were out there, the dig was so successful that many people just
started paying for their extra buckets beforehand.
If we have ten or more people who are interested in doing a night dig for
fluorescent material, the fee for that is $30 per five gallon bucket of
material, with each additional bucket costing another $30. All of the funds
go directly to helping the museum stay in business.

As always, this fieldtrip is open to anyone who would like to attend. You do
not have to be a member of the MAGMA group to dig with us. We'd love to have
a huge turnout for this one, so invite your friends!

Help! My wife and I are stuck being cold in snowy Michigan, but we have an
opportunity to head south for a few days next week and week-end. We really
want to get dirty and you can help by providing any leads on hounding sites
in Kentucky/Tennesse. We thought we'd head toward Nashville, but really
have no destination other than the ones you provide. We have done a bit of
exploring for Geodes east of Nashville in the past, but would love to
explore other ideas. Thanks in advance for any leads!
Frozen Dave in perpetually cloudy Michigan.
