[Rockhounds] Colorado Mineral Localities

Hi All,
I am going to be making a trip to Colorado soon and I was wondering
about insight or status of mineral collecting localities.  I have done some
limited collecting in Colorado but nothing extensive and would appreciate
any help in regards to this matter especially since mines get blocked off, 
developed, etc.
