[Rockhounds] Abandoned mines: Who owns them?

Thanks Kreigh,
  I was told that the mineral rights were not included in the  deed.  Not 
sure how all this works.  It seems that since there has  been no activity in many 
years, maybe I could figure out how to at least get the  claim open again.
  I'm going to check with the BLM and see what I can do.
