[Rockhounds] Collecting Locations Near Champion, Michigan

Next month I am going up to the UP of Michigan for the Copper Country 
Retreat and Field Trips. I want to spend a day looking around the 
Republic/Champion/Michigamme area. I have found several sources with 
general descriptions of mines and other locations, but was wondering if 
anyone has any specific details - specific locations/directions, 
GPS coordinates, which locations are actually available to collect 
(either on public land or where permission is obtainable), what types 
of minerals can be found at those locations, etc.
