[Rockhounds] Need Info Re "Geode" Clamp/Vise

I've seen one here  http://www.gravescompany.com/sawacc.htm  , but it 
is listed as discontinued by the manufacturer. I believe part of the 
key is the "geode pins." I've thought about driving 4 long screws 
into the ends of two wooden clamp faces, leaving the heads slicking 
out, but that idea is completely untested.
