Who's to say that, without the exposure, you wouldn't have been the next
Einstein?
The inventor of the Hodelizer? A machine that allows tapping of the vast
resources of dark energy that seem to shape our universe (and thus saving
the world...).

I'm not saying that you would, but you definitely could ;-)))
Then again, maybe the building was very well designed and that is what kept
you safe. Following your story; if it wasn't then people would have been
dropping dead by the dozens in there. I suspect you would have noticed
stumbling over corpses on your way to school?
