There is a 'Gemfield' about 5 miles north of Goldfield. The last time
I was there a state highway sign marked the turn off. Once you turn
off the pavement from highway 95 you will be going west, about 45 or
5 miles, -- but the roads twist and turn and fork.

When I was there the last time there was an abandoned camp trailer on
the site, west and slightly south. It's visible from several high
points along the dirt road. Just keep going toward it. And at a fork,
chose the one that's been traveled. It might be dusty but there are no
bad spots. You could probably drive a family car on all of them. And
as always, carry plenty of water.

Also, somebody has supposedly opened one of the Royston turquoise
mines as a "pay mine." I was talking to a guy who made lamps and
chandeliers from antlers and horns and he used the turquoise as trim.
He lived in Goldfield but I don't have a name. Ask around town since
he has a shop there. (It's a work shop, not a store.)

Good luck,

Grant
