[Rockhounds] Houston question

The Houston Gem & Mineral Society website is www.hgms.org. Their site
has a lot of information about collecting at Whiskey Bridge and some
good info for petrified wood near College Station. I collected once from
the Brazos River at "Whiskey Bridge" and got some nice small marine
fossils, but I've pulled several hundred pounds of petrified wood from
the creeks in this area. However, with all the rain the spot on the
Brazos will likely not accessible for a while. The heat is really bad at
the moment too.

Also, you might want to touch base with the Houston Gem and Mineral
Society.
An excellent club with a large membership and their own club house. I
was a
member back when I lived in Houston. Really nice folks too.
