Lots of fossil collecting in the Houston area, if you want to do that. I
used to live there.
Here are a couple.
The beaches at High Island hae Pleisocene fossils. Walk at low tide going
east. I have found giant sloth, horse, mammoth and other fossils there.
There is or was a gravel bar on the west side of the Brazos River under
I-10. If trhe water has receeded from the floods, it should be exposed. It
produces petrified wood and pleistocene fossils.
