Well, at the very basic level, the main difference between then and now is that there was a lot more discussion then. That doesn't really capture it, though -- a massive, gigantic, huge, gargantuan more discussion then than now. I miss it, to be honest.  I also miss chasing girls in high school and playing backyard football, but there's no use crying about it. -- terry smith

Heh, you've got them nailed pretty well Al, but...

As a long-time listener of Don's show, I don't hear a lot of GB cuts. Zero to be exact. And I think he would recognize that I'm not attacking Garth for hsi music abilities, but rather the course he set mainstream country music on. Same would go for Cantwell. IMHO.

It was fun having the writers around, but it was also their egos/opinions that lead to the flame wars. And I always had the feeling they were talking to one another a great deal of the time rather than the group as a whole. I mean once a couple checked out, they all followed suit.
