I hated the version of "Every Day I Write the Book",
which may be my favorite Costello song, as I think the hook
got whitewashed and destroyed by the new arrangement.? It turned it into a bland song
IMO.? And I wasn't even sure why there was a mandolin player as great as he is.
He didn't get any room to do anything.? Plus, as great as the players are, there was
a tremendous lack of dynamics in the arrangements.? Maybe this will get better over time.
