saw Carrie Rodriguez (and Jakob
Dylan) tape an ACL show last week.  Smilin' Jim was there too I
think.    Carrie had a great band including Gary Louris sitting in on
4-5 songs to sing harmonies, he co-wrote several songs on her new cd,
and Greg Leisz on steel and guitar!  .    Thought Jakob was better live
than the new cd which is kind of quiet and slow to my ears so far.   I
think his guitar player used to be in the Black Crowes but I'm blanking
on his name.  Of course I think they've had a few guitar players in
that band, haven't they?  I like a few songs on the new Alejandro, the
one about Rank and File called "Chip n Tony" and the single which I
didn't like at first and "Smoke" and "Sister Lost Soul".   It
definitely took me a while to get those songs, the rest of it will take
more time I guess.  Jerald

Tonight's show is oddly promoted. Hayes Carll is the scheduled opener at  
8:30, then I found out Carrie Rodriquez is also playing at 8PM,  unannounced. I 
believe she is in Alejandro's band, but not sure on that.
