I'm sure it has been mentioned before, but the archives at http://www.mvyradio.com/archives/index.php#A provide some exceptional listening. MerleFest is jus the start of it. I'm currently listening to the 2007 Americana Awards show.
Good listening while researching educational leadership, I must say. Isn't technology wonderful!
This time two weeks from now, I should be damn close to having completed the requirements of my Masters. At least I had better be. And while I brought lots of music with me, and have bought more since I've been in Lethbridge- nice little store called Blueprint is the only indy record store in town- I still depend on folks like WDVX and the MVYradio folks to help me get through my day.
PS. The Polaris Awards short-list, celebrating the best of Canadian music, will be released on Monday. If I remember I'll post the list when released. I've got my fingers crossed for Fred, Kathleen, and the Weakerthans to make the cut...but they probably won't; indie pop/rock (whatever the hell that is) seems to be the taste of the year based on the individual top 5s various jury members have posted.
