This is some kind of random FO (A) RM Magazine Week at the Chapel. If
you enjoyed Bethany Wright's reading at Subtext two nights ago, come
check out her musical co-publishers tonight.

TONIGHT! FRI. 5/9, 8 PM, $5 - $15 sliding scale at the door

Nonsequitur presents sound artists Seth Nehil (Portland), Matt Marble
(Portland), and Corey Fuller (Bellingham). All share an interest in
creating work that explores a wide range of textures and formal
strategies with an emphasis on the microscopic details of everyday
sounds and objects. Residing somewhere between ambient drone and
musique concrete, it's a music of radical subtlety and intimacy. Nehil
& Marble will collaborate on a duo set; Fuller plays solo.

Seth Nehil is a sound and visual artist. He has composed sound works
for CD, multi-speaker installation, solo and large-group concerts,
dance, theater and multi-media performance. Published recordings
include collaborations with jgrzinich and Olivia Block and solo works
such as Tracing the Skins of Clouds (Kaon FR); Uva (20City JP); and
Umbra (...edition US), among others. He has performed throughout the
US, in Europe and Japan. He is also co-editor and designer of FO (A)
RM magazine, a journal of arts and research with a focus on sound art.

Matt Marble has composed works for film, theatre, dance, CD, stereo
diffusion, multimedia performance, and instrumental ensembles. He is
currently developing a practice of scored improvisation, which
emphasizes group dynamics, social and sonic geometry, and rhythmic
elasticity. He studied music composition at CalArts and music theory
at Portland State University and the University of Paris. He recently
received his B.A. in Speech & Hearing Science from Portland State
University and currently works as a full time Research Assistant for
the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research (NCRAR) at
the VA hospital in Portland. With Seth Nehil, Bethany Wright, and
Joseph Bradshaw, he co-edits FO A RM Magazine, emphasizing
experimental sound practices and auditory culture.

Corey Fuller is a sound artist and musician from Tokyo, Japan
currently residing in Bellingham, WA. His work is a slow and gradual
music composed of infinitesimal details comprised of processed and
delicately treated acoustic instruments, field recordings, and other
sound sources. In addition to an upcoming full length solo album,
Fuller is currently collaborating with Chihei Hatakeyama (Kranky) and
of Opitope (SPEKK) on a soon to be completed album. He is also one of
the co-organizers of the annual Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival.
