THUR. 1/31 @ 8 PM - Illusion of Safety (Chicago)
Celebrating 25 years of performing and recording as Illusion of Safety,
core member Daniel Burke will perform a solo set of semi-structured
electronic/electro-acoustic improvisation that promises to provide a
somewhat unsettling bridge between half remembered fragments of last
night's dreams and the reality that occurs just outside our
subconscious. Expect minimal drone, maximum power, location references,
amplified objects, subtle electronic synthesis, and samples of
mysterious origin that will stimulate memory and disturb your status
quo.
SAT. 2/2 @ 8 PM - Marc Barreca & Steve Fisk
Two veterans of the Seattle electronic music scene. Marc Barreca was
involved with the recently revived Palace of Lights label, and will
presenting electronic accordion, laptop, and interactive video. Steve
Fisk has produced a zillion great records by other artists, and has
solo releases on Sub Pop, SST, and K Records. He'll be playing sampler
and piano, accompanied by the video stylings of Killing Frenzy. (PLEASE
NOTE: DUE TO ILLNESS, ALLEN STRANGE WILL NOT BE PERFORMING)
