Greetings all,
This weekend will be our huge Festival of Wayward Music, to announce
the Chapel to the community at large and celebrate the 100th
anniversary of the Good Shepherd Building. Please join us - admission
is FREE!
Friday, July 20, 8 PM
Piano Christening event with Gust Burns, Dawn Clement, Wayne Horvitz,
Julie Ives, Duo Juum, Johanna Kunin, Victor Noriega, Amy Rubin, and
Cristina Valdes (in that order).
Saturday, July 21, noon - 10 PM
Day-long marathon with an incredible sampling of the Seattle creative
music community. This will be an informal affair, so feel free to come
and go, eat some snacks (and bring some to share), take the kids to
play in the great Meridian Park playground just out our back door, and
enjoy ten hours of non-stop short sets by the likes of Gamelan
Pacifica, Climax Golden Twins, One World Taiko, Stuart Dempster, Amy
Denio, Wally Shoup, Garrett Fisher Ensemble, Paul Rucker, Lori Goldston
& Angelina Baldoz, Jim Knodle, Susie Kozawa, Dennis Rea & Ed Petri,
Bill Horist, Yann Novak, Seattle Chamber Players, Joshua Roman, writers
from Subtext & Clearcut Press, and many (many) more.
Complete schedule is now posted on the web site -
http://gschapel.blogspot.com
Volunteer opportunities still available (yo, we could use a hand).
Contact me if you are interested at nonseq at drizzle.com.
On Sunday July 22 from 2 - 3:30
Historic Seattle hosts an official ceremony to mark the 100th
anniversary of the building and dedicate the newly renovated Chapel.
Ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Greg Nickels + other public
officials, open house and building tours, music, period costumes, ice
cream and lemonade.
Hope to see you this weekend!
Steve
