We have several cool events coming up in the next month. Here are two
of them:

THIS SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 8 PM
Jeph Jerman & Animist Orchestra

Chapel Performance Space at Good Shepherd Center
4649 Sunnyside Ave. N, Seattle
(in Wallingford, just south of 50th St.)
$5 - $15 (sliding scale) at the door

Arizona-based improviser Jeph Jerman founded animist orchestra in 1999
while living in Seattle. From the outset the group's aim has been to
create, using only unamplified natural objects, a listening environment
that is not based on traditional reasons for making music, such as the
sharing of emotion or the demonstration of instrumental prowess. They
make sound to listen to, intuitively and with the simplest of means -
delicate, extremely quiet, and completely spellbinding. Come hear them
in this wonderful space!

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 8 PM
Dale Lloyd + Camilla Hannan & TARAB

Gallery 1412
1812 18th Ave. (just north of Union), Seattle
$5 - $15 (sliding scale) at the door

Adventurous ambient/electroacoustic music with Australian sound artists
Camilla Hannan and Eamon Sprod (aka TARAB), along with Seattle sound
artist Dale Lloyd. All three artists share a common approach in their
use of treated location recordings to create evocative sonic
atmospheres that are hauntingly beautiful, hypnotic, and rich in sonic
detail. Fans of artists such as Francisco Lopez, Steve Roden, and Jeff
Greinke will find much to appreciate here.
