Chapel Performance Space at Good Shepherd Center
50th & Sunnyside, in Wallingford
FRI. 12/7, 8 PM - Nonsequitur presents Japanese saxophone savant
Katsura Yamauchi + Olympia/Portland bass clarinetist/throat
singer/primitive rock god Arrington de Dionyso.
Yamauchi makes his Seattle debut on his first US tour. A 30-year
veteran of the Japanese free music scene, he left a lucrative career as
a businessman to devote himself fully to playing a very restrained and
personal brand of improvised saxophone music. A fair amount of his
playing is done with and in rivers and streams. Really. (click on the
photo on our web site.)
Also, for you modern classical fans, tomorrow night offers an
interesting program of seldom-heard composers:
SAT. 12/8, 7 PM - Impressions of Romania - chamber music by 20th c.
Romanian composers, performed by Oana Rusu-Tomai (piano), Adriana
Hulscher (violin), Paige Stockley Lerner (cello), and Natalie Lerch
(soprano).
