When you did the format, did you accept the default key muscletool offered or did you input one of your own?  The key isn't really a key per se, but a pin used to check and see if you're authorized to format the applet.  The key is built in to the applet and can't be changed unless you recompile the applet, so most versions of the applet use the key as offered by muscletool.
